TITLE: SECRETARY – HIGH SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma and two or more years of clerical experience.
- Detail oriented with above average accuracy.
- Possess good analytical skills.
- Ability to handle high amount of stress with quick response.
- Ability to face adversity calmly and professionally.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with ability to tolerate constant interruptions.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Assistant Principal
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Oversee accounting and budget functions for the high school, coordinate substitutes and leave usage, maintain student records, and serve as the office manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Up and down motion between chair and counter; keyboarding; standing; bending; mobility in and around the office and school; and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the accounting and budgeting functions for the high school.
- Determine need for and acquire substitutes and schedule them accordingly.
- Determine type of staff leave, maintain leave information and submit to administration.
- Through the Infinite Campus platform, manage course offerings and reporting of staff schedules.
- Maintain all transcript and student record information which includes entering and verifying all grades and making grade changes as needed.
- Coordinate graduation by verifying names for diplomas, making space arrangements, compile and prepare programs, and coordinate acquisitions of graduation materials and supplies.
- Maintain the Brookings High School webpage.
- Maintain records of issuing building keys to employees.
- Assist in scheduling student/parent events held at the high school.
- Assist with Copy Machine – repair; order supplies, contact company regarding repair.
- Coordinate AP exams
- Nursing and safety duties as needed (medications, epi pens; band aids, 911).
- Civil Rights Data reporting.
- Vocational Reporting for the Perkins Grant.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The Board shall offer a letter of agreement with wages and benefits to be determined by the board as delineated in the Brookings Education Association Master Agreement.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE:
This position is responsible to the building principal(s) and the performance of this position will be evaluated by the building principal(s).
