TITLE: IT HELPDESK SUPPORT
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, Pass all employment screenings
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology and Knowledge Management
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
We are looking for a competent help desk technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. The responsibilities include answering queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them.
An excellent help desk technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. Additionally, a strong customer-orientation and patients to deal with difficult customers is essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to carry 30-40 pounds, frequent lifting, sitting, stooping, standing, and bending. Frequent keyboarding and repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the counter
- Perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services
- Follow-up and update customer status and information
- Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
- Able to use the online inventory software
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Ability to work with a team
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Hourly position, hours are full time, benefits provided. Position is a 9 month contract.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE:
This position is responsible to the building principal and the performance of this position will be evaluated by the Director of Technology and Knowledge Management. |
